Major solo exhibitions include “CUT!” (MEDEL GALLERY SHU, Tokyo, 2020), group exhibitions such as “SHIBUYA STYLE vol.15” (Shibuya Seibu, Tokyo, 2021), and art fairs such as “MEET YOUR ART FESTIVAL 2022 “New Soil’”, “Art Jakarta 2022”, “KIAF+”, and “VOLTA BASEL”.

Ryosuke Misawa seeks and practices ways to connect with people, times, and the world through art.

He describes the basis of his activities as “locking in the audience and seeing art as a tool for communication.

His activities are always conceived with the viewer in mind, aiming to build relationship and universe of “viewing/being viewed” through them. His current practice consists mainly of paintings that study the visual experience of the digitized era by deconstructing and reinterpreting digital data that has entered the public domain, reassembling it into portraits, and outputting it back onto canvas. In this way, Ryosuke, who sometimes responds to the ages and locations while considering “how best to attract attention,” focuses thoroughly on the gravitational pull generated by people and engages others in a manner different from that of artists such as Fluxus or Happening.

At the same time, he studies the relationship between “stars” and their audiences, which we create by social networking and entertainment, as well as the unique form of communication that mankind has historically repeated, “creation of special individuals and followers”.
