<Children hiding their faces>

Children are hiding their faces.

Behind their hidden faces, what do they see? What are their expressions?

The child is hiding the face. Maybe the child is playing a game. Maybe the child is shy.

To the child, the world is the place where he or she wants to hide from. And yet, it is also the place full of wonder and curiosity.

<About the artwork and the message the artist wants to deliver>

When I started this work, I was inspired by the girl from the music video which I had watched in college.
The music video was an animation with simple line drawings. And in the music video, the song ‘If Trees Could Speak’ by The Flashbulb was coming out as a background music. The girl appeared almost at the end of the video. She had her long hair wearing a white shirt and she was crying behind her hands.

The image in the video lasted for only a short time, but I saw some pure beauty from the girl. Her image stuck vividly in my memory. 10 years later, I became mid thirties, and some inspiration lured me to the children hiding their faces. As I started the project, I felt children's different feelings and expressions hidden behind their hands. From then on, the girl I met in the music video became my muse.

Now, as an artist, I struggle to create a good piece of work. I also communicate with my viewers while I work on this project with pleasure. I hope the viewers enjoy the imagination hidden behind the children's face. It is the pleasure I had felt when I first met the girl.
